Mexico Union San Pedro
Notes of rich chocolate, sweet toffee, and toasted nuts define Union San Pedro. It’s a timeless Mexican profile we come back to year after year, delivering a comforting, chocolatey cup that feels perfect for colder months.Â
We’ve enjoyed working with Union San Pedro coffee for many years. The association represents eight communities and around 180 families. This lot comes from seven producers across Los Naranjos, Tierra Blanca, and Malvavisco.Â
Coordinated by Salamon Garcia from Xanica, Union San Pedro has grown under his guidance. He also founded UNTAO, a cooperative-owned exporter and dry mill, giving producers direct access to milling and export, which strengthens their connection to the wider supply chain.
Under Salamon’s leadership, the farms are experimenting with new varieties to improve Oaxaca’s historically low yields. The coffee grows alongside vanilla, cacao, cardamom, and cinnamon in 'bosques comestibles' edible forests.
Reforestation and crop diversification are key initiatives at Union San Pedro, providing environmental benefits while creating additional income for producers.
